Panacea Now Offering Physician and Coder E&M Training Ahead of Implementation of New Guidelines, effective Jan 1, 2021.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Panacea Healthcare Solutions, Inc., a company specializing in healthcare coding compliance software and consulting services, is introducing a comprehensive yet concise training program with optional coding and documentation quality review, tailored to fit healthcare provider’s specific needs, as a method to help them prepare for a sweeping set of changes in evaluation and management (E&M) guidelines set to take effect at the start of 2021. The training is designed for physicians, coders, and other qualified healthcare professionals who provide E&M services in a clinic or other outpatient setting.

“These new E&M guidelines represent a major overhaul not seen in over two decades,” Panacea Executive Vice President Kathy Pride said. “Getting your physicians on board and on the same page to ensure compliance and quantify new reimbursement will be a major challenge and should be started as soon as possible.”

The course was developed by Pride (RHIT, CPC, CCS-P, CPMA), a nationally recognized and renowned coding educator, who noted that the course specifically covers:

  • A detailed review of the revised 2021 E&M guidelines for selecting the correct level of service for outpatient visits;
  • A discussion on what is changing (and what is not); and
  • A demonstration on how to document levels of service based on the revised guidelines, using either medical decision-making or time.

The training is designed to be flexible, convenient, and customized, with delivery options tailored to meet any organization’s needs. In addition to the pre-recorded training, delivered via the provider’s or Panacea’s online learning management system, training can be customized to include:

  • Optional live Q&A sessions to augment the on-demand video training;
  • Interactive virtual group training with an instructor; and
  • Private and personalized tutorial training.

Panacea also offers a post implementation Coding and Documentation Quality Review to identify any learning areas that may need improvement to ensure accurate reimbursement.
